Abstract:
The future of nursing is….You!
With healthcare challenges becoming globally difficult, the focus becomes directed to the potential solution: NURSES.
For the longest time, nurses have been quietly working in the background, the residuals of a tradition when nurse’s roles are passive and dependent. Today, the challenges are real: to put nurses in the frontline and become in charge of healthcare.
As we prepare ourselves to meet these demands, we have to go back to the basics of self-care and preservation. We have to be healthy ourselves before we can fully respond to these challenges. Nursing is the future of healthcare. The future of nursing is you!
Objectives:
- Identify factors affecting nutrition and total health of nurses and others in the healthcare profession.
- Understand different food pyramids and develop own nutrition pyramid that could be used by nurses as guidelines at home and at work.
- Create a personal action plan for mindful eating that a nurse can implement at any given setting.
- Use the stories spontaneously and use it to map out self-help and self purpose in life particularly enhancing nurse work experiences and relationships with patients and collaborative ream members.
- Implement the dance movement into beneficial activity that could rev up physical, mental and spiritual focus.
